When is the Career Fair?

The Career Fair will be on October 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

For what positions are companies hiring at the Engineering Career Fair?
Companies are primarily seeking students for full time or co-op positions. Some will be looking to fill internships.

 

Do I need to register to attend the Career Fair?
No, students do not need to register to attend the fair. The fair is a free service provided by Engineering Tribunal to all students.

 

What is the dress for the Career Fair?
Please help maintain a professional atmosphere. Students typically dress in business casual to business formal.

 

What should I bring to the Career Fair?
You should bring several copies of your resume to provide company representatives. It may be helpful to bring a portfolio to hold the resumes and take notes in. Limited quantities are available for sale in the Engineering Tribunal office (652 Baldwin Hall.) If you bring your backpack to the Career Fair, we will have a coat check available to hold it while you visit companies.

Where should I post my resume so companies can see it?
Student seeking co-op positions should place their resume on PlacePro. For all other opportunities (including full-time and internships) student should post their resume on Recruit a Cat. (Recruit a Cat is a free service that the Career Development Center provides for students seeking employment.) Companies wishing to see posted resumes must have relationships with those respective university systems to be able to see and download the resumes posted. Not all companies attending this career fair will be able to. So, as stated above, make sure to bring plenty of copies of your resume to the Career Fair!

 

How will I know what companies will be at the Career Fair?
A guidebook containing a map of all of the companies along with information about each one will be provided at registration. Additionally, there is a Company Search feature on this website.

 

Why should I come to the Career Fair?
The fair provides a tremendous opportunity to search for a job by checking out employers that are eager to hire UC engineers.  Check back for a complete list!
